About Lawyer

Urooj Zaman is Junior Counsel at the Toronto office, practicing in insurance defense litigation. Prior to joining Aviva Trial Lawyers, Urooj articled with Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General. She received her JD degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021 and was called to the bar in 2022. While completing her JD, she worked as a Teaching Assistant for a first-year law course in Professional Responsibility and Ethics at Lincoln Alexander School of Law and as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law at University of Ottawa. She has appeared before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and was awarded the Arar-Mazigh Entrance Scholarship for her work in human rights and civil liberties. Urooj is a member of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association.

Urooj enjoys reading, baking and taking walks in the park.
