About Lawyer
Spencer is Litigation Counsel at the Toronto office, having both summered and articled with Aviva Trial Lawyers. Since becoming counsel, Spencer is developing a practice involving both insurance defence and subrogation.
Spencer received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University on the Dean’s Honor List. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario in 2024. While in law school, Spencer worked for Community Legal Services, providing pro bono legal services to individuals in the London community. He was also a member of Western Law’s team at the Hague Inter-University Law Debate Tournament where he debated niche and emerging issues in international law, coming in 4th place. Spencer was also chosen by Western Law’s faculty to receive the Brad Hodgson Civil Litigation Award, which is given to the student who shows the greatest potential for success as a practitioner in civil litigation.
For many years before being called to the bar in Ontario, Spencer taught waterskiing at a residential summer camp. He finds the only thing comparable to the thrill of barefoot waterskiing to be advocating for his clients in open court.
