About Lawyer

Kate Foster is a Senior Litigation Counsel in the Calgary office, having joined Aviva in 2017.  Kate received her LL.B. with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2001, and was called in 2002.  Prior to joining Aviva, Kate worked in senior roles at Alberta Health Services and Intact Insurance.  Currently Kate’s work at Aviva involves predominately professional liability and bodily injury matters, with a smattering of other challenging files.  Kate has appeared at all levels of court (other than the Supreme Court!) and had the privilege of working as Legal Counsel to a Justice of the Court of Appeal of Alberta for two years.

Personal Interests

Kate’s personal interests are pretty simple - heading to the mountains every weekend with the family to ski, hike, bike, etc. Wildlife encounters are not unheard of.
