About Lawyer

Joanna is senior counsel at the Toronto office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in February 2026. Prior to this, she worked as a partner at a mid-size insurance defence firm in downtown Toronto. Joanna's area of practice is insurance defence litigation, with a focus on professional negligence, medical malpractice, occupiers' liability, auto, and property damage claims. She regularly appears before various levels of court, including the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal. 

In addition to her practice, Joanna is actively involved in the legal community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, and contributes to legal policy development as a member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers (CDL) Public Policy Secretariat.
