Dana Ellis is Senior Litigation Counsel at Aviva Trial Lawyers’ Vancouver office, having joined in July 2014. Being the first ATL lawyer in British Columbia, Dana opened the Vancouver office and implemented many of the procedures and practices still utilized today. Prior to joining ATL, she worked for a large insurance law firm for several years where she primarily handled Aviva files. Her area of practice is general insurance litigation with a focus in products liability, occupiers’ liability and property damage claims. Dana handles a wide variety of files from large construction losses to brain injury cases. Dana received her undergraduate degree from Ryerson Polytechnic University in Radio and Television Arts. She went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the British Columbia bar in May 2009. Dana has appeared on behalf of clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and has been involved in trials, summary trials and many chamber applications. Dana is a fierce advocate for her clients and particularly enjoys handling cases where she can maintain Aviva’s defensible position.
Dana’s personal interests include reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family, particularly her feisty 3 year old daughter. She also has a particular passion for B.C. wines, and is a member of several regional wine clubs.
