About Lawyer

Clarence has conducted jury and non-jury trials and appeared before all levels of court in Ontario. He has acted as counsel on arbitrations held pursuant to the ICC, UNCITRAL, and ADRIC Rules and has spent his legal career assisting insurers with the investigation, defence and handling of first and third party insurance claims.

Clarence has experience in injunctive proceedings, including Mareva (asset freezing) and Anton Piller (civil search warrant) orders.  He has provided opinions and advice to insurers on matters relating to fraud, arson, bills of exchange, employee dishonesty, overlapping coverage and double insurance, repair and storage liens, directors and officers, and claims handling issues.

In addition to handling complex commercial, property and CGL defence, and insurance coverage disputes, Clarence has acted as an umpire for appraisals conducted pursuant to section 128 of the Insurance Act and as a referee in the administration of class action proceedings.
