About Lawyer

Annette Conway is Senior Litigation Counsel in the St. John’s , NL office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in October 2022.  Prior to this she worked in private practice with Curtis Dawe Lawyers for 28 years. Her area of practice is insurance litigation..  Annette received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1991. She went on to obtain  her LLB  from the University of Windsor Law School in 1994 and was called to the bar in  Newfoundland and Labrador in 1995.  Annette  has appeared before all levels  of court in Newfoundland and Labrador. Some notable cases include  Lewis v. Western Regional Integrated Health Authority, [2022] N.J. No. 182 (NLTD), Clarke v. Guiney 2007 CarswellNfld 356 (NLTD) and Pond v. Lethbridge 2005 CarswellNfld 77 (NTD); 2006 CarswellNfld 256 (NLCA).

Annette is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association.. She has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada for Insurance Law as well as Health Care Law and Corporate and Commercial Litigation.  She is also actively involved in the community and sits as the Legal Representative on the Health Research Ethics Board Non-clinical trial committee and genetics committee, a director with the Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland and Labrador and is a member on the advisory  committee for the History House and Museum in Torbay.
