About Lawyer

Andrea Farkouh is litigation counsel at the Toronto office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in June 2019. Prior to joining ATL, Andrea was a partner at national law firm where she was a member of the litigation and health sector groups with a practice focused on professional liability, medical malpractice, professional discipline, regulatory matters and risk management, as well as a wide range of  commercial litigation work. Andrea’s practice at ATL is focused on defending malpractice and occupier liability claims brought against public and private healthcare institutions, clinics and nursing homes, along with the Registered Health Professionals who work for them.

Andrea received her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University in 2001. She went on to obtain her JD in Law from Queen’s University in 2008, and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2009.  Andrea has appeared at all levels of court including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as a broad range of experience with various administrative tribunals and trial/arbitration experience.

Andrea is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyer’s Association, The Advocates’ Society and the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto.

Personal Interests

Andrea’s interests include golfing, Pilates, skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, and she is an avid traveler.
