Suhasha Hewagama is a lawyer at the Oakville office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in December 2017. Prior to this, she worked at a boutique Plaintiff firm in Toronto. Her area of practice is insurance defence litigation. Suhasha received a Bachelor of Commerce (Specialized Honours in Accounting) degree from York University in 2011. During her time at York University, she was invited to become a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. She went on to obtain her LL.B. from the University of London, City Law School in 2014, where she was awarded the Old Bailey Law Prize. She was called to the Ontario bar in January 2016. Suhasha has experience in the areas of accident benefits, tort law, criminal law, family law, tax litigation, and tribunal matters. She has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Tax Court of Canada, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Landlord & Tenant Board, and the Social Security Tribunal.
Suhasha’s personal interests include volunteer work to support the homeless, travelling, and international cuisine.
