About Lawyer

Colin Chant is an intermediate lawyer at the Toronto office having joined Aviva Trial Lawyers in 2015. Prior to this, he worked at an insurance defence litigation boutique in Toronto. He handles tort and medical malpractice claims, ranging from simple fender-benders to complex multi-party catastrophic claims. Colin received an undergraduate degree in American history from Harvard, where he also rowed on the men’s varsity heavyweight eight. After graduation, he spent 10 years teaching high school history at American schools in the Middle East. After a decade of travel and teaching, he returned to Canada in 2006 to attend law school at the University of Windsor. He obtained his LLB in 2009 and was called to the bar in 2010. He has extensive experience in both jury and nonjury cases and has argued matters before the Ontario Superior Court, Ontario Provincial Court and various tribunals.

Personal Interests

Run marathons, read history and spend time in the great outdoors with his wife and 10 year old daughter.
